Tom covers classical music recordings the way he thinks they should be covered: the best, the worst, and everything worth arguing about. Classical Guy features reviews, commentary, and discussion for people who love the music and couldn’t care less about “high culture” pretension.
This is classical music for pleasure, not for show.
Tom has been an avid classical listener since his teens, when he discovered the music through vinyl records borrowed from the public library and played on a cheap plastic turntable. He embraced digital audio early, buying his first CD player in the early 1980s, and today does most of his listening through streaming services.
The technology has changed. The reason for listening hasn’t.
His aim is simple: to share the pleasure of classical music with as many people as possible.
